Tiger Softball Wins District Championship Tiger Softball Wins District Championship

Thanks to another dominating performance on the diamond Friday night, the Frenship softball team run-ruled visiting Midland Lee 10-0 to claim to the 2019 District 2-6A Championship.

Friday’s win was the team’s fifteenth win in a row.

FHS wasted little time taking control of the contest with a five-run first inning. Qo’be Harvest’s home run and Caroline Kerr’s RBI double sparked the big inning.

Torrey Hogan was her usual self in the pitcher’s circle with another complete-game shutout. She allowed only one hit and struck out seven to earn the win, her eighteenth of the season.

Hogan added a home run to help her own cause in the second inning.

A three-run fifth inning sealed the run-rulevictory, and by the end of the night FHS had 13 hits. Kerr went 3-for-3 at the plate while Claudia Kerr, Erin Boles and Hogan added multiple hits.

With the 15-game winning streak, the Tigers now sit at 25-6 on the year and a perfect 8-0 in district. They finish out their district schedule this week with two games, first at Odessa High on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. before hosting midland high Friday at 6:30.
