Tiger Softball Picks Up Three More Wins in Dripping Springs

Frenship softball took their show on the road last weekend to battle with the Texas Hill Country’s best of the diamond at the Brittany Tuck Tournament in Dripping Springs.

FHS went 3-3 in their six games. Below is a look at their weekend results:

THURSDAY

Lake Travis 6, FHS 0: The Tiger bats were kept quiet in the tourney opener by Lake Travis. Frenship collected two hits from Hailee Little and Ellen Stuart but could not push runs across the plate. Torrey Hogan had five strikeouts in two innings of pitching relief for FHS.

FHS 9, New Braunfels Canyon 7: After falling behind 6-0, the Tigers battled back with five runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to take the lead. After Canyon tied things up at seven, Hailee Little delivered a game-winning double in the bottom of the fifth. Little, Keeley Etchison, and Anna Williams each had two hits. Williams and Alyssa DeLaGarza added home runs. Etchison was the winning pitcher.

FRIDAY

Magnolia West 5, FHS 0: Hailee Little and Caroline Kerr supplied two hits each for the Tigers, but Magnolia proved too much for FHS in Friday’s opener. Torrey Hogan had five strikeouts.

FHS 4, Elgin 2: The Tigers won again in comeback fashion with three runs in their final at-bat. Alyssa DeLaGarza provided the big hit with a three-run double. Caroline Kerr was 3-3 and Amory Chavez added two hits. Keeley Etchison had five strikeouts in the win.

SATURDAY

Giddings 4, FHS 2: The tables were turned on Frenship as Giddings scored two runs in the final inning to steal a win from the Tigers. Keeley Etchison was 3-3 at the plate with a home run.

FHS 5, Smithson Valley 4: Anna Williams blasted another home run and Hailee Little added two more hits that helped Frenship end the weekend on a winning note. Keeley Etchison picked up another win in the pitching circle.

The Tigers are back on the road this weekend at the Wylie Tournament.
