It’s “all systems go” on the hardwood for the Frenship basketball teams as District 2-6A play has arrived, and both teams know with only 10 games on the district schedule they will have to play their best ball in January for a shot at the title.
The girls wrapped up 2017 by going 3-1 and claiming third place in the Caprock Holiday Tournament. They beat Lamesa 67-18 and Brownfield 60-30 before falling to state-ranked Levelland 58-49. They finished the tourney with a 52-46 victory against Idalou.
The Tigers dropped their opening district game on the road at Midland 44-41 last Friday. They are back at home Tuesday, January 9 hosting Odessa High at 6:00 p.m.
The boys finished 2-2 in the Caprock with wins over New Way (89-47) and Lubbock High (53-48). They also added an impressive road win during the break last Friday at Monterey.
FHS starts District 2-6A play this Friday night hosting Permian at 7:30.
