Tiger Girls Hoops Start Season with Victory at Seminole

DSC_0117The first tally mark of the season goes in the win column for the Frenship girls basketball team courtesy of a hard fought 48-40 victory on the road versus Seminole. The Tigers opened up a six point lead by halftime and kept the Maidens at arm’s length the rest of the way to earn the season-opening W.

After trailing by two at the end of the first quarter, the Tigers took control in the second by outscoring Seminole 11-3. The run gave FHS a 22-16 halftime lead, a lead they would not relinquish.

Three Tigers finished the night in double figures in scoring. Margaret Gaydon led the way with 13 points followed by Desiree Caldwell with 12 and Tatyana Law with 10.

Frenship made eight three-pointers in the game and were perfect from the free throw line in the game (6-6) courtesy Caldwell and Kaitlyn McCloud.

The Tigers are now 1-0 and will host Levelland in their home opener on Saturday.
