Tiger Baseball Sweeps Odessa Permian

Frenship_F_Logo_blueThe Frenship baseball team is finding their stride at the right time of the season as the Tigers ended March and started April with a two-game sweep of Odessa Permian.

In Friday’s series opener in Wolfforth, FHS beat the Panthers 3-2 after overcoming an early 2-0 deficit with two runs in the second inning and the game winner in the fifth. The pitching of starter Brock Erculiani and closer Bradden Kennard made the one-run lead stand up in the end. Erculiani (3-3) earned the win after pitching 6.1 innings and giving up only two runs on six hits with three strikeouts. Kennard earned the save.

Mason Weathers was 2-3 at the plate while Erculiani and Joseph Hill picked up runs batted in.

On Saturday in Odessa, the Tigers busted open a pitchers’ duel with five runs in the sixth inning. Adryane Atkins, who was 3-3 in the game, had a run scoring triple combined with RBI doubles from Erculiani and Dylan Merritt. Conley Green (5-1) was in control on the mound. He went six innings and only gave up one run on four hits while striking out three.
