The Frenship baseball team built an early four run lead and found a way to hold on for an exciting 5-4 win versus Midland High Friday in Midland.
After falling behind 1-0 in the first inning, the Tigers scored crooked number in both the third and fourth to take control of the game. In the third, Landon Everett had an RBI single and Mason Weathers added and two-run double that gave FHS a 3-1 lead. In the fourth, Justyce Bocanegra extended the lead to 5-1 with a two-run double of his own.
Everett, Weathers, and Bocanegra each had two hits in the Tigers’ nine-hit barrage.
Conley Green pitched a complete game with four strikeouts and no walks to collect the win.
FHS is (11-10, 3-2 District 2-6A) has now played each district opponent one time and play each two more times. The Tigers start round two of district play Friday when they host Odessa Permian at 6:00 p.m.
