The Frenship boys’ golf team played some of their best golf against the region’s best teams and finished in second place at the 20-team Abilene High School Invitational March 10-11.
After a first round team score of 320 on Friday, Frenship carded the tournament’s lowest team total of 297 on Saturday thanks to a big boost from freshman Jayce Hargrove’s round of 70. All five Tiger players finished with a score in the seventies on Saturday.
“This was a big step in the right direction and our second strong showing of the spring,” said Frenship boys’ golf coach Dan McDonald.
Abilene native, former PGA great and 1971 Masters champion Charles Coody joined the team for a picture during the trophy presentation ceremony.
