Wolfforth Police Department Honors Officers

The Wolfforth Police Department recently honored several of its officers at their Annual Banquet. Along with officer awards, the spouses and families of officers were honored for their support and extra effort in tolerating the shifts and high-demands of being a part of the police department.

Officer Casey Cook received the Commendation Bar Award. The award reads, “For Meritorious service during 2014/2015. Officer Cook’s dedication to duty resulted in the arrest of several drug traffickers and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, cash and other contraband. Officer Cook’s dedication to ferreting out illegal drug activity will contribute to a safer environment for the citizens of Wolfforth.”

Officer Jared King and Cpl. Jacob Peer received the Life Saving Bar Award. “Successful Life Saving Efforts. Cpl. Peer and Officer King were dispatched to a possible attempted suicide. The information on the address was limited which made it difficult to find the location. Cpl Peer and Officer King were persistent and were able to locate the address. Investigations by the officers revealed that a person was in danger of dying. Through their quick response and determined efforts, the officers were able to force entry into the residence and take lifesaving action. Had it not been for the officer’s quick actions, the individual would have died.”

Cpl Jacob Peer was also promoted to Sergeant at this year’s award ceremony.
