The City of Wolfforth Police Department will be hosting the “32nd Annual National Night Out” on Tuesday, October 6 from 6:00-8:30pm in the west parking lot of People’s Bank Stadium. The entire event is free to the community and includes a hamburger and hot dog meal cooked by Carpet Tech, donuts from Jack ‘n Jill, entertainment for children and lots of prizes.
National Night Out is primarily a law enforcement sponsored event that enables local departments to introduce themselves to the communities in which they work. At these events, first responders are able to inform and educate citizens on the services they provide. It is an opportunity for citizens to become pro-active in the fight against crime as well as develop a sense of ownership in their community. Additionally, other branches of emergency services such as the fire department and emergency medical services traditionally participate in the National Night Out campaign.
Attendance at Wolfforth’s National Night Out has steadily increased over the past few years. In addition to attending this great event, the Wolfforth Police Department asks you or your business to consider donating a service, door prize or monetary amount to help with the costs of this event. Donations can be made to the City of Wolfforth noting NNO 2015 in the memo line of your check. Officer Jackie De La Garza, the organizer of National Night Out, can be reached at jdelagarza@wolfforthpd.org or at (806)855-4172. We look forward to seeing you on October 6!
