WOLFFORTH — The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is scheduled to open various Marsha Sharp Freeway (MSF) mainlanes, at the Loop 193 bridge in Wolfforth, to traffic next week, as work on Phase 5C continues.
Weather permitting; beginning Monday, Feb. 13, crews will open one westbound MSF mainlane along the Phase 5C project limits. Then on Tuesday, Feb. 14, crews will open one eastbound mainlane. The frontage roads along the project limits will also be reduced to one lane in each direction beginning next week.
“Contractor Allen Butler will continue work to set bridge guardrail fencing and work to reconstruct the Loop 193 intersection including constructing a new turnaround,” said Ed Goebel, P.E. TxDOT Lubbock Area Engineer.
Drivers are urged to pay attention to all signs, barricades and traffic control devices, and to reduce their speed as they approach work zones for their safety and the safety of the workers.
Work on the $14.5 million project to rebuild the Loop 193 interchange began in October 2015.
