Two Frenship Tigers were just accepted into the Texas Tech family as well a a very distinguished program through the Rawls College of Business in a surprise ceremony last week.
Frenship High School is pleased to announce that two of their graduating seniors, Kylie Williams and Joshua Smith were both accepted into the Rawls Business Leaders Program based on their academic performance, leadership traits and their interview process. This is a very exciting opportunity for Kylie and Joshua as only 12 incoming freshman, 11 students from Texas and one from an alternate state, are accepted and offered scholarships into this program annually.
Texas Tech’s Rawls College of Business wanted to fully emphasize the elite nature of this program by having Interim Dean Paul Goebel personally visit the students during class at FHS and deliver the news. On Friday, May 6 Dean Goebel arrived at FHS to surprise the students and officially inform them of their selection to the RBL Program.
“We feel that a university dean personally delivering the program offer and scholarship at the students’ high school signals how much we believe in the potential of our RBL students,” said Randi K. Rivers-Carnley, Executive Associate to the Dean at Texas Tech.
The RBL Program is an elite program that was established to equip students with real-world experience and knowledge to propel their already distinguished leadership skills further. Texas Tech University’s Rawls College of Business established the RBL Program in the Fall of 2013.
Congratulations to both Kylie and Joshua on this distinguished achievement and honor.
