Terra Vista Middle School Honors Art Class project this spring semester was inspired by Dale Chihuly, master and world renowned sculptor. His sculptures are made of colorful glass shapes and hang all over the world in various installations. The honors art class used plastic water bottles, donated by TVMS teachers, and colored them with permanent markers.

The bottles were then cut into different shapes, some were melted in a toaster oven and some kept their original shape. Wire was then used to hang them throughout the classroom. The center of the sculpture was left hollow so it could be filled with Christmas lights to really bring the piece to life. “It has been a lot of fun,” said Jana Garrison TVMS art teacher. “The art students have learned from their first sculpture and are currently working on their second sculpture to be displayed in the TVMS library.”
