In a very special symphonic band concert on Saturday, May 16 the Terra Vista Middle School Band performed at the Silent Wings Museum for Armed Forces Day. The band started their performance around 10 am on the front steps of the museum for veterans and their families as a tribute and thank you for their service to our country. The students played some familiar tunes such as “America the Beautiful”, “God Bless America”, “This is My Country”, along with a couple of songs from the soundtracks of The Patriot and Saving Private Ryan. The concert lasted about an hour and then veterans and their families toured the Silent Wings Museum. It was a wonderful display of patriotism and very moving for all of those in attendance. Thank you TVMS students for recognizing these true American Heroes in such a special way.
