Track Brings Home Title from City Bank Tiger Relays

Cold and windy weather in late February can only mean one thing in Wolfforth, Texas: the annual City Bank Tiger Relays to kick off the track season.

Eleven female teams and 13 male teams participated in the two-day event. At the end of the meet, the FHS tracksters had collected five first place finishes, and the FHS boys captured team title by half of a point over Lubbock High.

Sarah Tackitt led girls with a win in the pole vault and a second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles. On the boys side, Jacob Eugenis found gold in the discus, Daniel Garcia claimed first in the 200, and both the 400-meter relay and 800-meter relay crossed the finish line in first.
