Tigers Keep Two-Game Lead with 4-2 Victory Over Amarillo

IMG_0588Chandler Casey shined on the mound with a complete-game performance and then helped his own cause with a two-run single in the bottom of the sixth to propel Frenship baseball to a 4-2 win against Amarillo High Friday night in Wolfforth.

With the game tied at two in the sixth, Casey singled the opposite way into right field. Bryce Kiser and Riley Fitzgerald both scored on the play and gave the Tigers a lead they would not relinquish.

Casey then shut the door in the seventh for the pitching victory. The senior right-hander went a complete-game seven innings, giving up two runs on eight hits while striking out seven.

Jake Salyer helped the Tigers offensively by going 1-for-3 with a solo home run and sacrifice fly. Koby Claborn was also 2-for-3 at the plate.

Frenship is 16-7 on the year and lead District 2-6A with a 7-1 record. The Tigers are back on the home diamond Tuesday night when they host Monterey at 7:00 pm.
