Tigers Host Tascosa Friday, Also Middle School Band Night

The Frenship Tiger football team returns to the home turf Friday night when they host the Tascosa Rebels. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Peoples Bank Stadium in Wolfforth.

FHS enters the game with a 3-3 record and 1-1 in District 2-6A. Tascosa is 4-2 and 1-1. Last week, the Tigers lost a tough game to Midland High 38-28 while Tascosa lost to Midland Lee 42-35 in overtime.

Friday’s game also marks the annual middle school band night for Frenship’s three middle school band programs. More than 700 band members from Frenship High School, Frenship Middle School, Terra Vista Middle School and Heritage Middle School will join together at pregame activities to form the largest marching band that has ever performed in Peoples Band Stadium.

The FHS band has won 25 years of consecutive UIL Sweepstakes Awards and has made eight appearances at the prestigious Texas State Marching contest in San Antonio. The middle school bands are all Sweepstakes winners in the own right as well as Grand Champions at festivals around the state.
The bands will combine for a pregame performance at 7:05 featuring music from the movie Ghostbusters. Drum majors, baton twirlers, guard members, percussionists and wind players will perform a rousing rendition of this perennial favorite.

Tickets for Friday’s game can be purchased at any FISD campus. Prices are eight dollars for adults and three dollars for students. All tickets at the gate Friday night are 10 dollars.
