Tiger Hoops Sweep Midland Lee, Both Teams in First Place

Friday night was another doubleheader sweep on the hardwood for the Frenship Tigers, and this time the teams took their show on the road and came home with two wins versus Midland Lee.

FRENSHIP GIRLS 43, MIDLAND LEE 39

In the opener, the FHS girls built a double-digit lead after three quarters and sealed the victory with strong free throw shooting in a 43-39 win.

Addison Foster led the way with a game-high 14 points and Margaret Gaydon added 11. The Tigers finished 17-of-24 from the free throw line as a team.

The win finishes off a perfect first half of District 2-6A play for the Tigers who sit alone in first place with five games to go. They start the second half of district with a return trip to Midland on Tuesday night, this time to battle Midland High. Tipoff is at 6:00 p.m.

FRENSHIP BOYS 57, MIDLAND LEE 44

On the boys side, FHS exploded in the second half to turn a two-point game into a 13-points final spread, winning 57-44.

After outscoring Lee 11-5 in the third, the Tigers went on an early 9-0 run in the fourth to seal the win. It capped off a perfect week for the team and pulled them back into a three-way tie in the District 2-6A standings at 2-1.

Bradley Brooks led the way in scoring with 19 points while Skyler Newsome contributed 15. FHS travels back to Midland for a 7:30 tipoff against Midland High.
