Tigers Homecoming Ends with Exciting 40-28 Win Against Permian

img_0443It is a Homecoming night that will be talked about for a long time by the Frenship community after the Tigers overcame an 18-point halftime deficit with 30 unanswered points to beat Odessa Permian 40-28.

FHS scored on each of its first five possessions of the second half to turn the scoreboard from the 28-10 halftime setback to the 40-28 final. Garrison Johnson, Chandler Brand, and Adryane Atkins all scored touchdowns during that stretch.

Paden Gallardo added a 23-yard field goal to start the second half scoring. He also kicked 30-yard field goal in the first half, and Beau Sutton started the scoring with a touchdown reception in the second quarter.

The defense played tremendous in the final two quarters by shutting out the Panthers. The team forced three turnovers and stopped a potential MOJO scoring drive inside the Tiger 10-yard line late in the fourth quarter.

img_0153The win marked the 100th victory for head coach Brad Davis at Frenship. It was also a special night for seniors Skylar Fannin and Nick Harrison who were named the FHS Homecoming Queen and King prior to the game.

FHS is now 3-2 overall but more importantly 1-0 in District 2-6A play. The Tigers travel to Midland this Friday to play the Midland High Bulldogs. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. at Grande Communications Stadium.
