Tigers’ Historic Soccer Season Ends in Regional Tournament

Frenship_F_Logo_blueIt may take a day or two for the sting of a season-ending loss to go away, but what the Frenship girls’ soccer program accomplished in 2017 was something that makes all of Frenship Nation proud.

The Tigers’ historic season came to an end Friday in the Class 6A Region I Semifinals with a 3-1 loss to Southlake Carroll. FHS led at the half but the Dragons scored three unanswered goals in the second half to claim the victory.

Senior Allyson Scott gave the Tigers the lead early in the first half with a goal less than 10 minutes into the game. The FHS defense was strong again and held Carroll scoreless the remainder of the first half.

But the Dragons were able to find the net three times in the second half and end the Tigers’ season.

FHS finishes their most successful season in their five-year history with a final record of 22-3 and the program’s first-ever appearance in the regional tournament. They outscored their opponents this season by a final total of 124-8.
