Tiger Softball Runs Rules Tascosa, Now 2-0 in District

IMG_0310The Frenship Tigers Varsity continued their winning ways on the diamond Friday night by jumping out to an early lead on Tascosa and capturing a 15-2 run-rule victory on Friday in the team’s district home opener at Frenship.

The Tigers scored nine runs in the first three innings before landing the final knockout punch with six runs in the fourth.

In the first inning, K’Leigh Arredondo laced an RBI triple and Destinee Vindiola added a two-run double to get the Tiger offense clicking early. McKaley Johnson had a hot bat for the Tigers, finishing 3-for-4 with a double. She drove in one and scored three times.

Clarissa Gonzales was dominant in the circle and picked up the victory. Gonzales allowed two runs and struck out five in four innings of work.

The Tigers are now 16-3 and 2-0 in District 2-6A play.  They travel across town to Coronado to play the state-ranked Mustangs Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
