Tiger Softball Beats Midland in Extra Innings

The Frenship softball team has a flair for late-game dramatics.

Just days after beating Odessa High with a walkoff three-run home run, FHS saw a three run lead vanish in the seventh inning only to come back score four runs in the eighth then hold off a late Midland High charge in a 9-8 win. FHS finished with 13 hits and were led by two-hit performances from Angelica Abila, Caroline Kerr, Kyla Merritt, Keeley Etchison, Maya Mongelli and Shay Hopkins.

Torrey Hogan was a workhorse on the mound pitching a complete-game with six strikeouts to pick up the win.

The Tigers are now 18-8 and 4-1 in district play. They return to the diamond Tuesday at home hosting Tascosa at 7:00 p.m.
