Tiger Powerlifters Begin Season With Successful Meet in Plainview

The Frenship Powerlifting team headed to Plainview to start their season last weekend and raised the bar high for what looks to be a successful 2018.

The boys lifted their way to a third place team finish at the Plainview Invitational behind winner Perryton and runner-up Plainview. Individually, Jeremiah Cope brought home a gold medal in the Super Heavyweight class with a total combined lift of 1,405 pounds. Anthony Lara placed second in the 123-lb weight class with a total lift of 875 pounds and Isaiah Williams was a second place finish in the 220-lb weight class with a lift of 1,325 pounds.

A total lift is the combined weight lifted in three events: bench press, squat, and dead lift.
