Tiger Girls Golf Sets Four School Records in Weekend Tournament

Frenship_Tiger_paw_blueTo say the Frenship girls golf team is having a record-breaking year may be the understatement of the early season.

The team set four new school records last weekend on their way to a runner-up finish at the Regional Preview at Shadow Hills Girls Golf Tournament. FHS finished in second behind five-time defending state champion Andrews.

Tiger Freshman Haley Vargas won the individual title with a two-day score of 141 (71,70).

The four school records during this tournament included:

– Lowest round, team: 307

– Lowest round, individual: Haley Vargas – 70

– Lowest two-day tournament score, team: 642

– Lowest two-day tournament total score, individual: Haley Vargas – 141

“Frenship has had girls golf since 1990, so this was a special tournament for them,” said Roger Whipkey, FHS Girls Golf Coach.
