The Frenship football team made quick work of El Paso Burges by scoring on every offensive possession in the first half and adding a defensive touchdown for good measure to build a 42-0 halftime lead and cruise to a 49-0 victory Friday in Odessa.
Senior tailback Ronald Awatt scored three rushing touchdowns to lead the way for the Tigers. Tresten Kennard added two passing touchdowns to Jordan Mannon and Scott McIntire, and Deauzae Johnson scored touchdowns on both offense and defense to cap the Tiger scoring.
A shutout for the Tiger defense was never really in question as Burges only managed inside the Frenship 25-yard line on their final possession of the game. The Tiger D forced a fumble on the drive, the final of three takeaways on the night.
Frenship (1-0) plays their home opener this Friday hosting El Paso El Dorado at Peoples Bank Stadium. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. Gates open at 5:30.
