Tiger Football Earns Two State Award Recognitions

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football, in partnership with the United States Army, honored the Frenship Tiger football team with the Army Values School of the Week award for week two of the 2018 season. The announcement was made on Dave Campbell’s Texas Football website Monday morning.

The Tigers forced four turnovers against state-ranked Wichita Falls Hirschi Friday night to win its first game since 2016 with a 36-23 victory over the Huskies.

According to their website, the schools selected throughout the course of this program have best exemplified the seven Army Values – Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity and Personal Courage.

Dave Campbell’s Texas Football also awarded Tiger senior quarterback Austin Phillips with the Texas Player of the Week award for week one of the 2018 season.

Phillips opened up the season versus Amarillo High completing 49 of 66 passes for 609 yards and three touchdowns.

Fans from across the state voted online at TexasFootball.com’s poll last week. Phillips was announced the winner Friday afternoon.
