Wolfforth area residents now have a new fresh food shopping option every Saturday morning year-round, Wolfforth Farmers Market. This new privately-owned indoor/outdoor farmers market opened in early November 2017, and it has opened to the public each Saturday morning since then, offering a selection of fresh seasonal produce, pasture-raised meats, farm fresh eggs, flavored honey, baked goods, homemade pickles, salsas, hot sauce, crafts and other items from local vendors for sale, including products from some vendors located in or near Wolfforth.
In January, the market also began offering some limited spaces for local food trucks during market hours, a move that has been especially well receive by customers, providing new ready-to-eat food options on Saturdays to area residents. Additional “food truck only” events may also be offered on the market property during high season months which will run from mid-April through mid-October.
The mission of Wolfforth Farmers Market is based on serving both customers and vendors, providing each group a friendly, high quality location to shop for or sell local products year-round on Saturdays and on other market days that may be added seasonally. Providing a permanent home with some improvements for the market on the owners’ family farm, the market offers a regular, yet affordable, selling location for local growers year after year, as well as a reliable location for nearby residents to find local products each week.
The market facilitates year-round sales via a new climate-controlled indoor market building with a rustic theme, in addition to about twenty-five traditional outdoor vendor booth spaces on an improved surface. Convenient customer parking is provided along the county road in front of the market and on the east side of the market property.
Some of the participating market vendors at this time are A Fit Farmer, Beni Specialty Bakery, BJ’s Jams, Block 20 Produce, Coursey Family Farm, Diamond C Meat Co., Diamond K Salsa, Dirt Road Darlings, E3 Farm, Freddie Hamm Woodworking, Granma Nettie’s Pickles, Honey Hen Farms, Juicy Lucy’s Veggies, Munchie’s Bakery, Ola Verde Sauce Co., Proctor Farms, Rare Medium Well Done, Sabrina’s Soapery, Scott’s Gourmet Salsa, Sugar’s Sweets and Wolf Creek Farms. New seasonal vendors will participate as their crops are available to sell later in the season, and participating food trucks may vary week to week.
Interested growers and producers in the area are now invited to inquire about selling their own products anytime during the market’s high season by calling 806-746-2599 or by sending a written inquiry via the market’s website at www.wolfforthfarmersmarket.com Outdoor spots are still available for vendors that desire to sell as either regular season-long vendors or as day vendors. Vendors that desire to have their products sold on their behalf in the indoor market are also invited to inquire about that option.
In addition to the market’s website, customers can follow the market’s weekly activities and product offerings on the business Facebook page, Wolfforth Farmers Market, and customers can also follow occasional features on their business Instagram page, Wolfforth Farmers Market.
