Pirates Start Fast, Pull Away from Tigers 45-14

Lubbock Cooper scored touchdowns on each of its first two possessions and kept Frenship at arm’s length the rest of the first half before pulling away and beating the Tigers 45-14 Friday night at Pirate Stadium in Woodrow.

FHS was able to pull within one score late in the first quarter thanks to a Daniel Ramirez 58-yard touchdown run. His first TD of the year pulled the Tigers within 14-7 after one quarter of play. Max Rowley added his first touchdown of the year early in the fourth quarter as he and quarterback Austin Phillips connected on a 13-yard pass and catch.

Frenship returns to the gridiron Friday night in a neutral site contest against El Paso Andress. The Tigers (1-2) and Eagles (2-1) will battle at 7:00 p.m. CST at Watson Stadium in Hobbs, New Mexico
