Mrs. Scott’s Kindergarten Class at Oak Ridge Elementary celebrated Digital Learning Day using iPads in the classroom right before spring break. Digital learning is any instructional practice that effectively uses technology to strengthen a student’s learning experience. It emphasizes high-quality instruction and provides access to challenging content, feedback through formative assessment, opportunities for learning anytime and anywhere, and individualized instruction to ensure all students reach their full potential to succeed.
Students worked hard to complete a research project and draw a picture to represent what they were researching. On Digital Learning Day they used the ChatterPix app to present their completed research project to the class. The students simply took a photo of their drawing, drew a line to make a mouth to animate their drawing and then recorded their voice as they presented their research project. The kids were all very excited to see their art come to life while hearing their own voice in the animation.
Below is an example of one of the projects these students worked on. Great Job!
