Frenship ISD will officially unveil its new FHS Ninth Grade Center.
It is another exciting year as Frenship ISD will host a ribbon cutting for its 14th campus, the FHS Ninth Grade Center, at 2 p.m. Friday (Sept. 8) on the front sidewalk of the building.
The freshman campus was a part of the 2014 bond election that also included the construction of Frenship’s eighth elementary campus, Upland Heights Elementary, which opened in Fall 2016.
With the exponential growth Frenship ISD is seeing with its student population, the FHS Ninth Grade Center was built to allow the freshman class to be together for their first year of high school while also alleviate the enrollment of students at Frenship High School.
The groundbreaking for the FHS Ninth Grade Center was held in December 2015.
A few facts about the campus:
- 172,000 square feet
- More than 50 classrooms
- Eight computer labs
- Media center and commons area
- Soft seating with plug-ins for student devices
- Two full-size competition gyms for school and community use
Tours will be available after the ribbon cutting ceremony for anyone who wants to see the inside of the brand new campus.
