Legacy Students Join the Champions Club

Champions Club is an event that Mrs. Cheryl Booher, principal at Legacy Elementary, loves to do every six weeks to recognFullSizeRender1ize students and provide motivation for them to excel in academics, attendance and character. The students really enjoy getting to hear their names announced in front of their entire grade level, as well as friends and family that are in attendance for the assembly. On Friday, February 20 several Legacy Tigers became Champions.

When the student is called, they are recognized and receive a certificate and restaurant coupon. Group pictures of each grade level are snapped and then hung in the foyer to be seen by everyone who enters the campus. Tiger eyes are given daily to help keep everyone motivated between each six weeks period. The students who are caught in acts of kindness and display great behavior are announced by Mrs. Booher at the end of each day during announcements. This works really well in keeping our students motivated, since everyone likes to be recognized for doing good, and are always striving to make Champions Club. The qualifications for Champions Club include:

* A or A/B Grade Point Average

* One tardy and one or less absence

* Clean Character Card

* “Yes mam”/”No mam” 90% of the time
