Legacy Students Build a Firm Foundation for Learning

Legacy Elementary students have enjoyed playing with keva, foam, wooden and cardboard “brick” blocks with their peers, parents and teachers for two days in PE class. The blocks exhibit, also known as BLOCK Fest®, is a result of a research project conducted by the University of Idaho showing that students who play with blocks between the ages of 8 months and 8 years score better in science and math as they get older.

Region 17 invested in BLOCK Fest® through a grant, and it offers Frenship students enhanced readiness in their math and science curriculum.
