Legacy Elementary School hosted Science Night with special guest, Dr. David Lamp, Ph.D, who is an Associate Professor in the Department of Physics and Astronomy at Texas Tech University.
Science Night has a been a tradition at Legacy for the past three years. This year’s attendees included students, parents, teachers, principals and Frenship’s new Chief of Police, Roy Bassett.
Everyone enjoyed the visit by Dr. Lamp who put together a presentation of some of his experiments that teach basic physics concepts to elementary-age children.
“His presentation is always a crowd-pleaser with such demonstrations as inflating balloons, floating balls in the air with pressure, and exploding things,” said Allison Robertson, Legacy Media Specialist. “He is passionate about physics and about getting young students excited about learning basic physics concepts.”
