The students of Heritage Middle School’s National Junior Honor Society and Student Council have teamed up to join the fight against cancer. These two groups will have a team at this year’s American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life Event on April 30 at the Lubbock Christian University Perrin Recreation Center.
The annual event hosted by ACS is the ultimate fundraiser to recognize survivors, remember those lost to the disease and a way for everyone to join the fight to end cancer. The students and staff have raised $1,280 through a student vs. teacher basketball game that was help on Friday, April 15 in the HMS gymnasium; they’ve also sold colored T-shirts to reflect a different form of cancer that has impacted their lives personally or through a loved one. Throughout HMS many people were sporting the purple tee which is the color of Relay for Life and signifies all types of cancer.
Thank you students for leading the way and doing your part to help find a cure for cancer!
