The Frenship varsity boys golf team fired their lowest round of the fall shooting a two over par score of 290 to claim second place at South Plains Shootout Golf Tournament last weekend in Hobbs, New Mexico.
Saturday’s round was cancelled for the potential of severe weather.
The Tigers finished in second place against a field that included three state finalist teams and six regional finalist teams from a year ago.
Junior Jayce Hargrove shot four-under par 68 to lead the Tigers. Brian Boles shot 72, sophomores Logan Vargas and Leyton Lee fired 74 and 76, respectively. Kade Smith came into the clubhouse with an 81 and Owen Wallace was right behind him with an 83.
The Frenship girls golf teams also claimed tournament hardware this weekend as the blue team finished in second place and the gold team in third place at the Red Raider Invitational in Lubbock.
