The FHS girls faced another stiff set of tournament competition – this time in the DFW metroplex – and came home with a runner-up finish in the Duncanville Tournament. The Tigers fell in the championship game to Prosper 1-0 despite having a 13-4 advantage in shots on goal.
The setback did not overshadow three wins during the tourney. FHS started with a 2-1 win against Arlington High and followed it with victories over Mansfield Lake Ridge (2-1) and Amarillo (3-0).
Madyson Hoel and Natalie Jones each netted two goals while Macie Jacobs, Morgan Zapata and Victoria Ramirez scored one apiece.
FHS is 8-2-1 on the season. They host Monterey on Tuesday at the Tiger Soccer Complex. The match begins at 7:00 p.m.
