Spring is definitely in the air, but it felt more like summer last Thursday and Friday with the heat the FHS Track Teams were bringing to the District 2-6A track meet at Plains Capital Park-Lowrey Field.
The Varsity Girls team finished the two day competition being the District 2-6A runners-up! A great accomplishment for these students being only their second year in 6A competition.
Those moving on to Area from the competition include:
Danielle Leaks- First Place 100 M Dash with a time of 12.34; Second Place 200 M Dash; Second Place Long Jump
Sarah Tackitt – First Place in Pole Vault
Megan Hartline – First Place in Shot Put; Third Place Discus Throw
Rachel Westerman – Second Place 3200 M Run; Fourth Place 1600 M Run
Cassandra Awatt – Third Place Triple Jump
Kristin Castillo – Fourth Place 800 M Run
Bailey Kretschmer – Fourth Place Pole Vault
Marissa Mirabal – Fourth Place 300 M Hurdles
The Varsity Boys teams were up against some very talented competition this year at the District Meet. Even though the team fell short with their overall score, there are still some great highlights from the competition.
