On Wednesday, March 7, Frenship ISD will take an unprecedented action and pay for the junior class to take the SAT exam. They are participating in what’s called SAT School Day and plan to offer this once every spring if this first year goes well.
Research shows that students do better taking this test on a school day because it is normal routine to come to school early on a week day. They test with students and teachers they are familiar with, so it takes the anxiety and stress away.
During the 2016-17 school year, more than 800,000 students statewide took the SAT through an SAT School Day. (Source: collegeboard.org)
