Congratulations to Frenship High School students Beau Sutton, Cade Bednarz, Payton Brown and Colin Solomon for winning the state championship in the Environmental and Natural Resources Contest during the Texas FFA Association National Career Development Events Thursday at Tarleton State University.
The contest consists of team members completing soil profile analysis, soil data interpretation, animal, plant, and equipment identification, water quality analysis, GPS mapping, waste management, ecosystem management and pollution management as well as taking a written exam about each subject area.
Sutton finished as the high point individual in the contest. Bednarz had the second highest individual score and Brown finished seventh.
The state champion Tigers now advance to compete against the best in the country during the National FFA Convention and Expo October 25-28 in Indianapolis, Indiana.
