Congratulations to four Frenship High School athletes who received all-state recognition for their play on the baseball and softball diamonds in 2015.
Frenship senior Koby Claborn was named to the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association all-state team. Claborn, who batted .491 with six home runs and 39 RBI in 2015, was selected 1st team all-state at first base. Claborn also participated in the THSBCA All-Star game in June as a member of the Class 5A-6A North All-Star Team.
Frenship baseball finished the 2015 campaign with a record of 26-10 and reached the Region I-6A semifinals. The baseball team is led by head coach Chad Reynolds.
Frenship softball player K’Leigh Arredondo was named all-state by both the Texas Girls Coaches Association and the Texas Sports Writers Association. Arredondo, a senior, received the all-state selections as a second baseman. She also participated in the TGCA all-star game on Saturday, July 18.
Additionally, Tiger softball players Sam Clark and Rachel Sarkis were named TGCA academic all-state.
Frenship softball compiled a final record of 26-8 and reached the Region I-6A quarterfinals. The softball program is led by head coach Robby Dickenson.
The FISD Board of Trustees recognized these players for their outstanding accomplishments during the monthly board meeting on July 20.
