Four Frenship Athletes Sign National Letters of Intent

With a library full of supportive family and friends in attendance, four Frenship High School athletes signed the dotted line on their respective national letters of intent Wednesday to continue their athletic careers at the university level.

Soccer players Allison Scott and Alicia Rodriguez both signed to play soccer at the next level with Scott heading to Lubbock Christian University and Rodriguez to the University of the Southwest.

Margaret Gaydon is heading to Wayland Baptist University after she signed to play both basketball and track, and Jacob Piel will continue his football career at Angelo State University.

Rodriguez has been a valuable asset for the Tiger soccer program during her time at Frenship. In her second year on varsity, she helped lead the team to a 9-3 record this season.

Scott, a four-year letter winner on the soccer team, has been an All-District selection each of her first three years on the Tiger varsity. She was named the District 2-6A Offensive Most Valuable Player in 2016.

Gaydon, a four-year letter winner, has played a vital role in the success of the Tiger basketball program. She currently averages 10 points per contest and has helped the team to a 24-7 record. She also has a senior track season ahead of her this spring.

Piel, a three-year letterman, was named to the Class 6A All-State honorable mention football team after leading the Tigers to the bi-district playoffs after collecting 56 tackles and three sacks in 2016.
