FMS Gives Back To Post ISD

Frenship Middle School National Junior Honor Society is holding a book drive to benefit Post ISD. Book and monetary donations are going to begin February 9th and run through Feb 20th. The NJHS students love to read and want to allow those  affected by the Elementary school fire in Post to be able to love reading as well.book drive

In January, NJHS sent Wish Lists to the Elementary teachers of Post ISD. They also began working with Terra Vista Middle School and Scholastic Books to purchase the books that the teachers wanted. To date, FMS’ NJHS has raised over $1300. They have also received support from the Volunteer Center of Lubbock in order to purchase an additional $400 in books. They overall goal is $3000 and are still working and volunteering to raise those funds. The monetary donations are great, but books are needed too!

In the beginning weeks of February the students will have collection bins throughout the school to collect new and used Elementary age books. The students want to remind everyone that we all have books lying around that we don’t read anymore, but you can help us help Post by donating those used books. There will be book plates available to include your name with this special donation.

The students are so excited to be able to do this for Post, and excited for the FMS student body, families and NJHS in getting to help others!
