In late April, Frenship Middle School Bands traveled to Dallas, Texas where they competed in the “Director’s Choice Competition at the Eisemann”. Students earned the ability to perform at a professional venue by all of their hard work and dedication throughout the 2014-15 school year. Students traveling with the FMS Band performed at the Eisemann Center for the Performing Arts and enjoyed a dinner at the Medieval Times. The next morning all of the traveling students enjoyed a day at Six Flags Over Texas.
At the Competition, both FMS Bands were awarded a “Superior” rating, and were acknowledged as the “Best in Class” for Varsity and Non-Varsity Bands. On top of earning “Best in Class”, the FMS Gold band was recognized as the “Overall Outstanding Band” at the entire competition.
Directors Mrs. June Bearden and Mr. Jarred Dodd (pictured at right) are extremely proud of this year’s band and look forward to building on such a successful year! Congratulations FMS Band!
