FISD Bond Projects Moving Quickly as School Approaches

New construction, renovations, and upgrades continue on numerous projects at many Frenship ISD locations in July. Below is an update of the ongoing projects at FISD that are part of the 2014 bond:


DSC_0602Frenship High School Renovations: Demolition in the library/commons/cafeteria area at Frenship High School is complete. Painting and finish work has already begun in the library. The demolition is ongoing in the Family Consumer Science labs. Tile work in the renovated restrooms is complete, and the lockers in the hallways are currently being removed.


DSC_0633Soccer Facility/Turf Field Projects:  The light poles around the soccer complex are set, and mow strip concrete is being installed around the soccer field and practice fields. The concession stand masonry at the soccer complex is complete as well. Installation of the bleachers and press box is set to begin this week. Progress on the parking lot between Peoples Bank Stadium and the soccer complex is continuing and will be complete by the beginning of August. Additionally, the tower is installed and is complete at the band field.


DSC_0569New South Elementary (located at 10020 Upland Avenue): The new south elementary is heading vertical as CMU block walls continue to go up. Electrical and plumbing underground work continues throughout the facility, and the concrete slab is being poured in areas that are ready. Site work around the facility is continuing as well.


DSC_0593Vocational Ag Facility (located at Woodrow Road and County Road 1300): All concrete work is complete on the two new hog barns and the door jams are set. Installation of the hog pens has begun. The barn frames and metal paneling are complete, and the electrical fixtures are being installed. Final grading of the site continues as well.
