The end of the school year and subsequent summer months have allowed Frenship ISD to move ahead with construction projects laid out in the 2014 bond. Many of the bond projects have progressed quickly during the month of June. Below is an update of the Frenship construction taking place:
Frenship High School Renovations: Demolition inside library is complete. All of the books and bookcases that were located on the bottom floor have been relocated upstairs. All of the furniture has been moved out and new electrical floor plugs have been installed. Texture and painting of the library has begun. Demolition has also started in the Family Consumer Science area with ceiling tiles and grids, plumbing, HVAC and electrical.
New South Elementary (located at 10020 Upland Avenue): Installation of CMU block walls continue along with the installation of electrical undergrounds and plumbing undergrounds.
Vocational Ag Facility (located at Woodrow Road and County Road 1300): Installation of new roof on the show barn is complete. Two new hog barns are currently being constructed. Both concrete slabs are poured and construction of the buildings is ongoing.
Soccer Facility/Turf Field Projects: Installation of new field turf is complete at the soccer complex, the football practice fields as well as at Peoples Bank Stadium. Construction of south parking lot is underway and grading of north parking lot continues in preparation of asphalt. Fence posts are installed around the new soccer complex and the fencing is complete along 82nd Street and on the east side of complex. The walls of the concession building are complete and ready for roof installation. Installation of the repurposed turf from Peoples Bank Stadium on the band practice located behind Frenship High School is also complete. The slab for the observation tower overlooking the band practice field is set up and ready to pour.
