Frenship ISD extends a congratulations to Athletic Director Kenny Catney for induction into the Texas Association of Soccer Coaches Hall of Honor.
The induction ceremony took place during TASCO’s annual conference in San Antonio on November 20.
Catney, who joined FISD as Athletic Director in February, was the head boys’ soccer coach at Wichita Falls Rider High School from 1986-2006. He compiled a record of 402-53-31 and is one of only five soccer coaches in the state of Texas with 400 victories.
His soccer teams won 17 district championships, qualified for the UIL state tournament three times, and won the Class 4A state championship in 2000.
Catney also served as the Director of Athletics for Wichita Falls ISD form 2006-2015. Under his leadership, Wichita Falls ISD athletic programs won state championships in baseball, track and field, soccer, and tennis.
