This week the Wolfforth Fire Department made a special visit to Bennett Elementary, not to put out any fires but to teach the second graders on the campus about fire safety. The students heard from the firemen, watched one completely gear up and then got a chance to take an up close and personal look at a fire engine.
The students then told the first responders what they had learned about only calling 911 in an emergency, never to hide from a fireman if they are trapped in a burning building and that they were ready to talk to their parents about having a meeting place in the event their home caught on fire.
Thank you to the Wolfforth Fire Department for taking time to educate our students on the best practices when it comes to fire safety.
