FHS Students Place at iDigi Arts Festival, Contest

Students submitted digital arts pieces, with more than 40 of their pieces placing in the competition.

Tin-ManThis past Friday Frenship High School students enrolled in animation and digital media classes competed in the iDigi Arts Festival and Contest at the South Plains College in Levelland, with 46 pieces winning medals in various categories.

Students submitted animated pieces, in which they took still images and manipulated them in either 2D or 3D space in order to create the illusion of moving images. They also submitted digitally manipulated photography, digital art and original T-shirt designs in a vector format.

Some of the pieces took many hours to complete, with students coming in on their own time to edit and re-edit their artwork.

Frenship also won the T-shirt contest, in which the design was exclusively screen printed all morning as the demonstration design. The design chosen was created by students Guy Morales and Katrina Matilac.

Student Hannah Harrigan won a $500 scholarship based on her submission and teacher recommendation.
