The students traveled to the University of Texas-Arlington for the regional competition recently and will advance to state.
Twenty-two students and seven teachers traveled to the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex recently for the Academic UIL Regional competition to compete in a variety of categories, including computer applications, editorial writing, Lincoln-Douglas debate and more.
The top three individuals in regional competition advance to state at the University of Texas-Austin, while fourth through sixth place are alternates.
The students who will advance to state Academic UIL include:
Josh Kennon, Computer Applications (third place)
Mackenzie Boyd, Editorial Writing (second place)
Lauren Steele, Lincoln-Douglas Debate (second place)
Riki Sampson placed fourth in Number Sense and will serve as an alternate.
