Frenship High School student Divine Doss was selected as one of 33 students from across Texas to have her artwork displayed at the State Capitol in Austin during the Texas Art Education Association Youth Art Month State Capitol Exhibit.
Doss was also recognized for this prestigious selection on Sunday, April 3 at the Bob Bullock Museum in Austin. Cecilia Abbot, First Lady of Texas, served as keynote speaker and recognized all of the students for their accomplishments.
Doss and her family as well as FHS art teacher Ronelle Howell attended the awards ceremony on Sunday. Doss received a medal and certificate during the event.
As part of National Youth Art Month in March, TAEA sponsors a flag design contest, an exhibit of 100 pieces of student artwork, and a Youth Art Month art exhibit at the State Capitol.
