Frenship softball stepped out of district play Friday night but the results continued to be the same as the Tigers beat Lubbock Cooper 6-3 Friday at Tiger Field.
Sam Clark excelled again pitching for the Tigers. She went the distance for the win, giving up two earned runs on five hits while striking out two.
Frenship took the lead in the third with two runs courtesy a Destinee Vindiola single followed by a Clark single that scored Haley Thomack.
Cooper tied the game at two in the top of the fifth, but the tie was short-lived as Frenship answered with three unearned runs in the bottom of the frame.
The Tigers (20-4) return to District 2-6A play with a huge rematch with Lubbock Coronado (23-0-1). The Lady Mustangs handed Frenship their only district loss two weeks ago with a come-from-behind 3-2 win. First pitch is set for 6:30 at Frenship.
